"Talking Real Estate" Welcoming Introduction
You think you know Real Estate? Well let's talk about it...
My name is Cameron Gunnels, I am a third-generation real estate agent. After his time in the Military, my grandfather Lawrence Gunnels relocated from Little Rock, Arkansas to Cincinnati, Ohio and in 1971 created Gunnels Realty. He began buying land as an investor while also serving his community as their local realtor. During a time in American history when the color of a man’s skin determined the neighborhood he lived in, or the type of loan he could apply for my grandfather was a true trail blazer. He was the second minority to join the Cincinnati Board of Realtors and grew his business to become one of the largest minority owned companies in the city! As years past, the real estate market grew and shrank but one thing that remained consistent was Gunnels Realty. Through political chaos, recessions, and economic crisis, Gunnels Realty survived and outlasted its counter parts. Over the past 25 years the business has been primarily run by my father Fred Gunnels, and as of last year I became a fully Licensed Real Estate Agent.
Welcome to my blog and thank you for being here. My goal for this blog is to give you information, to open up dialogue, and offer alternative perspectives to the ever-changing state of the housing market. Everything from tips on how to prep for home purchase; to in-depth conversation of international housing markets and macroeconomics. I want this to be a blog for people of all experience levels. Together we will explore the different aspects of this industry and learn how to capitalize on and create new opportunities!
The blog though, is just one aspect of this initiative, it will be published alongside a monthly Podcast that will take an even deeper dive into the industry. The podcast will highlight a different featured guest each month. These guests may range from a first-time home buyer, to a mortgage lender, to the CEO of a major corporation. The idea behind the podcast is to give millennials access to the information they need but can’t find. Have you wondered what type of loans you should apply for as a young person looking to purchase a home? Have you ever asked yourself why some people seem to get promoted every 6 months while others stay in the same role for years? Is there any secret to leadership? These are the topics that will be discussed, and you will get answers not from me but from individuals who are at the top of their field.
I do this because I love it, passion is the only thing that could push me to be typing this at 12:44 AM on a Wednesday night. Sharing information and helping people gain a better understanding of the real estate market is where I find my satisfaction; and I am excited to share my passion with you!
